Joe Green begins his airborne traffic reports.

After flying with a traffic reporter for WHDH the previous year, the helicopter pilot moves to WBZ and eventually does the reporting himself. Over the years, he participates in a number of emergencies, including rescuing two boys from a raft in the Neponset River in 1972 and become known for his familiar “Joe Green, ‘BZ copter,” until signing off in 1995.
